Official welcome at the Hôtel de Ville Members of the International Association of Educating Cities (IAEC) are expected at Brussels City Hall, where they will be welcomed by:

- Anaïs Maes, Deputy Mayor for Town Planning and Public Areas, Road Works, Mobility and Dutch-speaking Education

Cocktail reception in the Gothic Hall
To bring this first day to a convivial close, the City of Brussels invites you to a cocktail reception in the sumptuous gothic room of the City Hall. It’s a great opportunity to exchange ideas and forge links before embarking on the days ahead.
A chamber music ensemble, composed of students and teachers from the Academy of Arts of the City of Brussels, will perform a musical presentation showcasing their talent and work.
Thursday 20 March 2025 • A day of exchange and discovery
After a first day of meetings, Thursday 20 March will be all about exploration and dialogue, with immersive study visits and inspiring discussions.

Immerse yourself in the heart of Brussels and its schools through five study visits tailored to different areas of interest. The perfect opportunity to explore local initiatives and discover the educational practices implemented in the city.

We will then open a space for reflection on dialogical approaches and the enhancement of cultural diversity in deliberative spaces dedicated to learning. This conference will be led by Coralie Delhaye, Pedagogical Inspector, teacher and researcher.

Friday 21 March 2025 • Last Exploration Day
To round off this General Meeting, we are offering you a second opportunity to discover the City of Brussels’ innovative schools and educational projects.

If you didn’t get the chance to take part in the Thursday visits, or if you’d like to take your discovery further, this new session will give you the chance to explore other inspiring educational initiatives.
